The Brief

RTSH (Albanian Public Broadcaster) requested an animation to be featured during the opening of the 55th edition of the Festival of Albanian Song (Festivali i Këngës). The opening needed to promote the tradition of albanian music on tv, while the orchestra of Radio Tirana performed a live rendition of “Birthday Present” – An Albanian classic by David Tukiqi.

The Solution

An illustrated short with animated parts explores features of the albanian landscape through nature and architecture. The camera pans from from the top of the antennas on the alps, to the sea, by passing over landmarks from Berat, Shkodër, Korçë, Tirana and Durrës. Throughout the journey, there are people singing serenades, listening on the radio, watching tv as well as queueing in front of the Palace of Congresses.
